Laurie Prindle

Laurie Prindle was born and raised in the verdant landscapes of the Green Mountains of Vermont. When she was six years old, her Welsh grandmother, who was a talented painter herself, gave her a set of Japanese watercolours. That began Laurie’s lifelong passion of creating art. Animals and particularly the big cats and birds of prey were her fascinations and she wanted to be a wildlife painter when she grew up.

Laurie has been a professional artist since her teens and participated in many local and statewide art shows during that time, winning several awards in the junior divisions. She then went on to attend Parsons School of Design in New York City and graduated with honors in 1984. She has owned/run her own design and illustration studio now for over 35 years, where during that time she has also pursued her love of nature, painting and drawing as well.

Laurie’s love of horses blossomed the first time she rode one over thirty years ago in Central Park in New York City. She moved to Colorado in 1987 where she now has a small ranch and she bought her first Morgan horse. She and her husband have been the proud owners of five lovely Morgans over the years, with whom they have done everything from eventing, classical Spanish riding, ranch work, parades, Australian whip-cracking exhibitions, experiencing the majestic beauty of Colorado on horseback and more. They are her artistic muses and her best friends.
