Lisa Desimini

Lisa Desimini started drawing and painting as a young child and never stopped. When she grew up, she received a BFA from The School of Visual Arts in NYC where she later taught illustration for several years.

Lisa is an award-winning illustrator of over thirty-five books for children. Some of those books she has written herself. Her work has also graced the covers of many book jackets, including The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris (which was turned into HBO’s True Blood). Recently she was commissioned to illustrate a special edition of The Man Who Fell to Earth, released in fall 2022.

Lisa is known for exploring new mediums. She has worked with oils, acrylics, collage, photography, and sculpture. Sometimes she combines all of these techniques on the computer. No matter what the medium, Lisa’s work is infused with a magical, otherworldly quality that speaks to all ages.

She lives with her husband and two cats in Los Angeles.
